Rules For Idiots

Everyone can become a member of Surrounded By Idiots (SBI) regardless of level or strength. All we ask is that you follow the rules as outlined here, that you respect other players (inside the alliance and in the rest of the game) and that you’re here to have a good time!

Member Ranks

SBI has 5 different ranks of members:

  1. Nitwits (R1)
  2. Boneheads (R2)
  3. Morons (R3)
  4. Lunatics (R4)
  5. Mad King (R5)

What rank you get depends on how much you contribute and how well you follow the rules.
The R4 ranking is reserved for players that help the R5 (leader) to lead the alliance.

Begging for a promotion will achieve the opposite result!

Activity & Absence

We don't want SBI to be filled with inactive accounts. Therefore we ask you to try to be active on a daily basis and contribute to the growth and atmosphere of the alliance. If your account has been inactive for more than 3 days, you will be demoted in the Member Ranks. If you are at the lowest rank and haven't been online in 10 days or more, you will be kicked out of the alliance.

If you know you will be away for a while, please notify an R4/R5 member of your absence through Discord, the game, or this website. Players that have announced their absence will not be demoted/kicked.

The alliance needs your donations to grow bigger and stronger. You can donate resources inside the game every 4 hours. In return, you will get Alliance Honor Points which can be used to purchase exclusive items in our Alliance Store. We require all our members to donate to the alliance on a regular basis. Failure to do so might get you demoted or kicked.

Allies & NAPs

In order to survive and grow steadily, we have negotiated agreements with other alliances in the game. We currently have 2 types of agreements:

NAP (Non Aggression Pact)

Mutual agreement where both parties will refrain from any type of aggressive behavior such as attacking settlements, alliance buildings and resource tiles. Both parties agree not to collect resources in each other's territory. Non-aggressive missions in each other's territory are allowed.

Mutual agreement where both parties will refrain from any type of aggressive behavior such as attacking settlements, alliance buildings and resource tiles. Collecting resources in each other's territory is allowed. When our allies are under attack, we will help to defend their territories and/or settlements. Separate agreements can be made on a per event basis to help our allies during specific events.

To see which agreements we currently have with other alliances, check the in-game Alliance Megaphone or the Allies page.

Rules Of Engagement

In addition to the above agreements and the State Rules that apply, we also have our own set of Rules Of Engagement. If both a State Rule and our Rule Of Engagement co-exist, the stricter of the two rules will apply.

  • We will not attack alliances with which we have an active agreement.
  • We will not attack resource tiles outside of the Kill Event, unless they are being occupied in our territory by non-allies.
  • We will not attack the same settlement more than twice in a row.
  • We will not 'zero' any other players.
  • When attacking strong alliances, ask an R4/R5 for permission first.

Most events can be planned and have 'Leaders' who coordinate them. If you wish to participate in these events, please notify the Leader or an R4 in advance so the planning can be changed accordingly. If you are unsure who the Leader is, it is most definitely not you, so do not go rogue during events but listen for instructions.

If you have opted in for an event, please do your best to show up at least 10 minutes before the event starts. Life happens, and sometimes you simply cannot make it, but don't sign up for events and never show up: other players depend on you.
